This initiative aims to assess the needs of our business community through targeted surveys, gathering crucial insights on:

  • Business Education & Training – Identifying key areas where local businesses need support, including financial management, marketing, workforce development, and compliance.
  • Grant & Funding Opportunities – Understanding the financial challenges businesses face and advocating for grants or funding solutions to help new and existing businesses grow.
  • Policy & City Development – Evaluating city policies that impact business growth, and proposing strategic changes that support economic expansion and entrepreneurship.


The Lower Umpqua region generally refers to areas surrounding the Lower Umpqua River Basin in Oregon, primarily within Douglas County and portions of Lane County and Coos County. Key communities and towns in this region include:

  • Reedsport – The largest city in the Lower Umpqua area, serving as a hub for commerce, tourism, and economic activity.
  • Gardiner – A historic community along the Umpqua River, known for its industrial and maritime history.
